Shop Native Nonprofits

Support Indigenous nonprofits and shop for everyday necessities at 85 Native organizations. By choosing products made by Indigenous communities, you can help preserve cultural heritage and create opportunities for growth and development. These small nonprofits offer sustainable alternatives to products made by corporations, reducing your carbon footprint and protecting the environment.

Unique Fundraising Model

The Dollar a Day Fund is an all-volunteer organization and employs a unique grassroots, peer-to-peer fundraising model. Supporters contribute ~$1/day through monthly or annual donations. Supporters will play an active role in recruiting additional donors and growing this effort.

Because the Dollar a Day Fund's staff is working pro bono, all funds raised will be sent directly to the organizations in unrestricted grants. The organizations will be able to use the funds on any organizational needs.

Accountability & No Grantee Burden

An Indigenous-led organization, sourced from the grantee lists of Indigenous grantmaking organizations, will receive a grant each time $1,000 is raised or every day (if funds raised exceed $1,000). The organizations will not be asked to submit proposals or reports.

This fund is accountable to the organizations it is supporting and will constantly seek to learn and improve its work to ensure it benefits Indigenous communities.

Donor Education & Transparency

Donors to the Fund will receive a biweekly newsletter to learn how their donations are being used to support Indigenous environmental organizations.
Donors who make recurring donations also have access to free sessions with the fund staff to discuss giving strategies that align with each donor's values. We are happy to discuss giving to Indigenous organizations or giving in any area that is of interest to you as a donor. Reach out to schedule time!
The fund will provide quarterly updates on donations received and distribution of funds. We will seek to acheive the highest levels of transparency.
